Scottsdale is destination golf. People fly in specifically to play, usually in groups, usually for a long weekend, and usually across several courses. The desert setting means carts throughout and a season running opposite to most of the country. What makes Scottsdale distinctive for lost equipment is the trip format: a foursome playing four courses in four days, with bags handled by resort staff, valets and bag drop attendants at every stop. Each handover is a point where a club can stop traveling with the rest of the set, and nobody notices until the flight home.
